a mini confession right at the beginning: you are reading chickensausages because i don't have chinese writing software at home! my apologies...i embrace my chinese identity very well, by no means am I shying away from it! but maybe one day, one day i'll get one of my other partners on air to type it out for me...

阿可 is a part of my real name, and it's my first nickname. ever since i was five, i've nursed this nucleus of identity crisis in the corner of my heart waiting to explode because i don't have a nick name. but voila! the wait was not in vain! 20 years later at the bright age of 25, that explosive potential finally dissolved because i joined the crazy PP959 team. the best thing that happened there and then was that i finally got my first nickname! no longer threatened by a possible identity battle, i think i can confide in you my real name- 陳可欣. this is my mom's doing, about 27 odd years ago. she was determined to have a happy baby girl, that's why she named me that, and JOYCE en anglais. turns out, i am a pretty happy person most of the hour, with occasional (but not predictable) exceptions like the summers in Vancouver. so kudos to mom for picking a happy name! when i have my daugher - yes, i'm going to have a daughter - i have already decided to name her "aria"... (to be continued...)
