Becoming an I.S. Zone tutor and evangelize to local high school students!

Local Student Mission

I.S. Zone is a tutoring community run for Ambassadors For Christ in Canada (AFC). It is all about transforming the lives of our Christian volunteers as well as the lives of local high school students.

At I.S. Zone, we believe there is more to tutoring than answering homework questions. We believe tutoring is one of the platforms to evangelize to those who have not yet come to Christ. Through I.S. Zone, volunteers learn how to be a contagious Christian who can evangelize with actions and words. Volunteers will be provided with workshops and training to better equip them to share the gospel.

I.S. Zone is a safe environment where people can connect. Through weekly interactions, tutors and students can get to know each other and to build relationships with one another. At I.S. Zone, volunteers have the opportunity to reach out and serve our community by being a role-model for the younger generation.

Join Us

Any Christian between the age of 18-30 with an active church life who wants to learn and practice evangelism is welcome to join. It will be a plus if you have experience in tutoring, but it is not mandatory. We will interview all applicants to determine their eligibility.

Commitment

It is a 6-month commitment with the following terms, volunteers:

• will be on duty at I.S. Zone with a minimum of 2 hours every week according to the agreed schedule,

• must attend bi-weekly debrief session with other tutors and staff,

• must attend the workshop provided by VCCSTM on Jan 21, 2012 from 2 pm to 3:30 pm,

• must attend AFC All-hands training on Jan 29, 2012
