In the morning. You toss and turn on your bed. You cannot sleep Your stress level is just too high. You can't beat that loneliness.
2:37 a.m.
You finally give in. You get up, turn on your computer, and you go back to that porn site. A few clicks later the video begins to stream. You masturbate to the screen. or to that innocent girl in the video.
2:49a.m.
Shutting down your computer, you go back to sleep. Finally you feel sleepy. But now you cannot stop hating yourself. How many times have you promised God not to watch porn and masturbate? And this is already the nth time that you fail to keep your promise.
You feel defeated...
You feel hypocritic...
You feel dirty...
You feel trapped...
You feel helpless...
You feel hopeless...
There is help. And there is always HOPE.
This small group aims to help those young men addicted to pornography to break free from their bondages in order to live holy life as Jesus' disciples.
Biblical principles will be applied and spiritual disciplines will be employed in the process. Participants will be required to participate fully in all prescribed activities, including attending all weekly sessions. Absence for only one weekly session will be allowed. Participants who is absent for more than once will be asked to leave the group. Fees will not be refunded. Commitment to the program is essential to the success of your change in behavioral pattern.
All information provided by the participants on this application form, including your name, will be kept confidential. Only the instructor and teaching assistant will have access to these information. Anything shared during the weekly sessions will also be kept confidential. Participants will be asked to sign a contract for maintaining confidentiality. This measure is for encouraging all participants to be open and honest in sharing their struggles, which we believe will be much necessary on the way leading to restoration and liberation.
Date: Starting Sep 10, 2011, every Saturday morning 9:00am-11:30am
(There may be some weeks when the group will not meet. Detailed schedule will be distributed at the first meeting. Total 10 to 13 sessions)
Instructor: Dr. Alan Yu, Ministry Director, AFC Vancouver
Requirements: 16-25 years old male, Christian or non-Christian, who is seeking help in his addiction to pornography, masturbation, pre-marital sex or other sexual behaviours.
Group size: maximum 8 people + instructor & teaching assistant
Fee: $80 (to be paid on the first meeting. No refund for dropping out once the group started.)
