Project Contempo is an outreach targeting the younger generation professional and career people in our churches – challenging them to connect their faith with their work and career. Everyone, young and old, is welcomed to be part of the Forum. In fact, we encourage the older generation to impart their Godly wisdom and knowledge to the younger generation and network with them.
The 5th Annual Project Contempo Forum is a golden opportunity for everyone to gather to find support and learn from each other’s experiences, insights and challenges. We trust the Forum will help everyone to grow in understanding what it means to follow Christ in our everyday life, and not just on Sundays.
“Living Up to Expectations” is this year’s theme. It seems everyone has to meet certain expectations as they go through life. Parents have expectations of their children. Spouses have expectations of one another. Employers and employees come to the job situation with certain expectations. We may even have expectations of ourselves and others. However, when you get right down to it, the expectations that we hold over one another as we move through life are really nothing more than us holding people to our standards!
There really is no life that is totally free of expectations. Everyone has some preconceived notions on our behaviours, the careers we choose, our choice of friends and even spouses, and just living out life in general. Even God has placed expectations on His people.
So, whose expectations do we live up to? How well do we live up to these expectations? How do we deal with unrealistic expectations? How does our faith help us to handle them?
Tom Cooper and his son, Jonathan, will be sharing their perspectives on the expectations in their lives at the upcoming Project Contempo Forum.
