錢北斗先生 (1944 - 2010) 主懷安息

加拿大基督使者協會前任總幹事錢北斗先生,在 2009 年 11 月中於香港中 風入院治療,並已於 2010 年 1 月 3 日(主日)凌晨被天父接返天家,享年 65 歲。本會已分別於多倫多及溫哥華之「使者學生中心」設立追思閣,在 辦公時間內開放,供各界人士到訪緬懷;並已訂於 2 月 7 日(主日)晚 7:30pm 假溫哥華西區浸信會(8506 Ash Street, Vancouver, 近 Marine Drive SkyTrain 站)舉行追思禮拜,主題為《薪火相傳》,歡迎各界人士出席。 至於多倫多追思禮拜的安排,將於容後公佈。

錢弟兄早年活躍於 Winnipeg CCF,曾任香港基督徒學生褔音團契總幹事, 於 1989 年加入加拿大基督使者協會,歷任總幹事及事工拓展主任,尤其致 力透過小組研經、門徒訓練及整全使命的倡導,推動加拿大華人學界褔音 運動。錢弟兄家人在其入院期間,亦特別架設網誌,分享錢弟兄病情,歡 迎於網誌(http://wakeupwithdad.blogspot.com)留言,向家人表達心意慰問。

In Memory of Mr. Benny Chin (1944-2010)

With deepest regret Mr. Benny Chin, the former executive director of Ambassadors For Christ in Canada, has gone to be with the Lord in Hong Kong on Sunday, January 3, 2010. Memorial corners have been set up at AFC Student Centre in Toronto and Vancouver. Brothers and sisters are encouraged to pay their final tribute to our beloved brother during the office hour. Memorial Service in Vancouver has also been scheduled on February 7 (Sunday) at 7:30pm at Westside Baptist Church (8506 Ash Street, Vancouver, near Marine Drive SkyTrain Station). The service will be conducted mainly in Cantonese. The arrangement for the Memorial Service in Toronto will be released subsequently.

Being a product of student ministry in the 1960’s through Winnipeg CCF, brother Benny has been serving as the General Secretary of the Fellowship of Evangelical Students (FES) in Hong Kong. In 1989, Benny joined AFC and has been serving as the Executive Director and Director of Ministry Development. Being an active advocate in bible studies, discipleship and holistic mission, Benny has been instrumental in the development of the evangelical student movement among the Chinese churches in Canada. A special blog has been set up by the Chin’s family since Benny was hospitalized in November 2009. Words of condolences are mostly welcomed. (http://wakeupwithdad.blogspot.com)
