Project Contempo is an outreach mainly to the younger generation professional and career people in our churches – challenging them to connect their faith with their work and career. However, everyone, young and old, are welcomed to be part of the Forum. In fact, we encourage the older generation to impart their Godly wisdom and knowledge to the younger generation and network with them.

"Integrity @ Work – Finding Your GPS in a Post-Enron World” is the theme for the upcoming Contempo Forum. The workplace can be seen as an ethical wilderness with mazes, bogs, and steep cliffs. How can one obtain and maintain his or her integrity when dealing with competing demands of our bosses, co-workers and customers? How do we respond to the marketplace and its ethical dilemmas?

For those in the marketplace, the struggle to maintain good ethics is faced every day. How well are we handling this struggle?

Just as a compass or GPS is needed to help us find directions in terms of our physical location, a moral GPS is needed to guide us in the ethical wilderness of our workplace. Without it, we are lost. But where do we find this GPS? We have all too few good resources for helping Christians in the marketplace relate their faith to their work, and to their integrity.

The Contempo Forum is a golden opportunity for everyone to gather to find support and learn from each other’s experiences, insights and challenges. We trust this Forum will help everyone to grow in understanding what it means to follow Christ in our everyday life, and not just on Sundays.

Our keynote speaker will be David C. Bentall . He will share about the ethical dilemmas that he faced when he worked in his family business and how he handled them.

This year we have also included a panel discussion with a number of leaders from various fields (healthcare, technology, arts & humanities, business and education) to answer any questions you may have related to this year’s theme. At the end of the formal sessions, there will be a time for networking with other Christian professionals and career people, so bring your business cards!

原來佢係用啲纖維做成啲假毛，等你塗上眉尾，到乾咗就可以好以真係多咗啲眉毛咁囉！

勁搞笑！但係真係佩服有人咁都諗得到！:D

不過我諗，如果係做話劇嘅話，用呢個方法去整假鬚，一定會比黐塊假鬚來得自然來得真！各位做話劇嘅朋友可以諗諗佢！

新加坡突破之家 25 週年紀念: "陽光生命" 溫哥華巡迴分享交流會

日期: 十月十六日 至 十一月四日

主辦機構簡介:

新加坡突破之家是一所非牟利機構﹐主要是幫助吸毒者戒毒﹐遠離毒品﹐改變生命﹐並協助他們重返和貢獻社會﹐該機構於印尼也成立了另一所突破之家。 他們常受邀請到其他國家的監獄﹑學校分享成功戒毒並帶來新希望的積極信息。

活動詳情:

這次的交流會希望能藉著一群曾經吸毒﹑參與幫派﹑犯事及坐牢但現在已經改過自新的過來人向大溫哥華地區的居民以國﹑粵﹑英語分享他們的心路歷程並帶出各類癖癮的害處﹐去喚醒華人 (特別是華裔青少年人)對各類癖癮的關注和對各級政府表達他們對毒品問題的意見。

該次交流會的開幕禮將於 10月八日在列治文 Radisson Hotel Vancouver Airport (8181 Cambie Road, Richmond, BC) 舉行。 屆時除了新加坡突破之家之外﹐也會有不同的社區及教會組織在會場設置攤位介紹他們的服務。

希望大家如果有空的話可以出席﹐讓政府可以從中知道華人教會對這個議題的關注。
